SANDEY GREENE

Meet Sandey Greene
Founder | Model | Activist

A woman of strength, grace, and resilience, Sandey Greene was born on February 18, 1968, in the lively streets of Newark, New Jersey, and now calls Birmingham, Alabama, home. As a proud mother of four, a glamorous grandmother of nine, and a widow to SSGT Quentin L. Greene of the United States Army, Sandey exemplifies unwavering dedication to family, advocacy, and empowerment.

Since 2021, Sandey has also been an integral part of the Birmingham City Schools community, where she contributes her time and expertise to the education and development of future generations.

With a background as a veteran model, Sandey has made her mark in both the Birmingham and Atlanta fashion scenes. Her captivating presence has earned her a place as a rising star on GMA’s of ATL, a trailblazing reality show that is shattering stereotypes of what it means to be a grandmother in today’s society. A dynamic ensemble of women, proudly identifying as "GLAMMAS," the show reveals how these extraordinary women are rewriting the narrative and redefining grandmothers as powerful, stylish, and unapologetically bold.

A passionate advocate, Sandey founded the nonprofit organization DON’T STARE! JUST ASK? #ALOPECIA in June 2022, which serves as a platform for raising awareness and fostering acceptance for those battling Alopecia. Her efforts have sparked a movement, evident through the impactful Alopecia Awareness Walks and the numerous proclamations from local mayors who support her cause.

Her journey of advocacy is deeply personal. The loss of her son, Ron'Drequez Cortez White, in 2009, to a senseless tragedy, and the subsequent creation of Righteousness Overpowers Negativity (R.O.N) in 2010, is a testament to her resilience. Her work offers a beacon of hope for those impacted by loss, proving that even in grief, strength can be found.

Sandey’s creativity flows not only through her activism but also in her storytelling. She starred in the moving track "No More" by Vivian Murray, where she shared her experience with Alopecia, and she is the author of "Crowned: A Journey of Heartbreak While Battling Alopecia." Her most recent work, "All That Pizza", a children’s book, combines fun, heart, and an important message, connecting with young readers while also tackling important themes.

As the founder of Alpha Zeta Kappa Sorority, Incorporated, Sandey continues to uplift women, young girls, and children affected by hair loss due to medical conditions, hair treatments, and more. Through her sorority, she fosters a sense of unity and empowerment, inspiring others to embrace their beauty and strength in the face of adversity.
