
SANDEY M. GREENE (“Mz. Bawldie”)
Sandey M. Greene, affectionately known as “Mz. Bawldie,” is an award-winning author, educator, advocate, songwriter, actress, model, community leader, and nonprofit founder dedicated to transforming pain into purpose. Through her unwavering faith, resilience, and passion for service, she has become a powerful voice for Alopecia awareness, grief advocacy, youth empowerment, and community outreach.
Born in Newark, New Jersey, and a longtime resident of Birmingham, Alabama, Sandey is the proud mother of four children and a loving Ge’Ge of nine grandchildren. Her life’s journey has been marked by both tremendous loss and extraordinary triumph. Following the passing of her mother (Leola Bolden), dad (Norman Lee White) sister ( Consandra Faye White) brother (Jimmy Kenyale White)the death of her husband, SSG Quentin L. Greene, a veteran who served in both the Marines and the U.S. Army, and the tragic loss of her son, Ron’Drequez Cortez White. Sandey chose to rise above heartbreak and dedicate her life to helping others heal, hope, and overcome.
Diagnosed with Alopecia more than two decades ago, Sandey embraced her baldness and transformed her experience into a movement. On June 11, 2022, she founded Don’t Stare! Just Ask? #ALOPECIA, an organization committed to increasing awareness, education, acceptance, and support for individuals living with hair loss. Through annual awareness walks, community programs, public speaking engagements, media appearances, and advocacy efforts, the organization has touched countless lives and helped turn curiosity into understanding.
As a respected advocate, Sandey serves as, helping bring greater visibility to Alopecia across the state. Her advocacy efforts have contributed to receiving more than 30 proclamations from mayors and leaders throughout Alabama recognizing Alopecia Awareness initiatives.
Sandey is also the founder / president of Alpha Zeta Kappa Sorority, Inc., a nonprofit organization established to mentor, empower, and inspire young ladies through leadership development, community service, education, and sisterhood.
An accomplished author, she has written “CROWNED,” a powerful memoir of faith, loss, resilience, and self-discovery, as well as “All That Pizza!”, a children’s book designed to educate young readers about Alopecia and encourage acceptance and confidence.
Her creativity extends into music and entertainment. Sandey is the songwriter behind “Celebrate Me Anyway,” a heartfelt anthem inspired by her journey through Alopecia and personal loss. She is also actively involved in theater, serving as a supporting various community productions.
Throughout her career, Sandey has worked in education, dedicating herself to supporting students and families. She has also models, served as a pageant judge, hosted community events, volunteered to feed and clothe those experiencing homelessness, and continuously used her platform to uplift others.
Known for her signature motto, “Turning Stares Into Understanding,” Sandey encourages people to see beyond appearances and embrace the beauty, strength, and purpose within themselves and others.
Today, Sandey continues to inspire audiences across the country through advocacy, speaking engagements, writing, music, mentorship, and community service. Whether she is organizing an awareness walk, encouraging a grieving parent, mentoring a young person, or sharing her testimony, her mission remains the same:
To educate, empower, inspire, and remind people that they can be Bald, Bold, Beautiful, Blessed, and Brilliant.
